Chris Christie May Run For President in 2024

At this rate, the midterm elections are less than four weeks away. After these races are over, Americans will be hearing a lot more about the 2024 presidential election. Although, there’s already a fair amount of conversation about the next White House race as is.

On the Democratic side, Biden continues to give conflicting messages about whether or not he plans to run for office again. There’s also a lot of speculation about which Democrats will step up if Biden decides to bow out of a second term.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis continues to come up as a possible candidate to run for the GOP 2024 nomination. Yet, he has not confirmed any plans to campaign for the White House.

Though the same can’t be said for former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. Last week, the former Republican governor stated he is, in fact, considering a White House run during the next presidential election season, per Washington Examiner.

What to Know About Christie’s 2024 Plan

During an interview with talk show host Bill Maher, Christie confirmed he may very well run for president again in 2024.

Christie also took shots at former President Trump in making this announcement. The former New Jersey governor said in spite of Trump’s promises of endless winning, the opposite happened.

After noting Republicans lost the House and Senate in 2018, the White House in 2020, and two Senate seats in January 2021, Christie suggested the GOP may want to return to true winning in 2024.

In spite of this, there are some debates about whether or not Christie is the person to take Republicans across the finish line. In all polls, the one person to show a fighting chance of defeating Trump for the 2024 nomination (should he choose to run again) is none other than DeSantis.

Christie ran for president back in 2016; yet, it didn’t pan out well for him.

Anything Goes?

Christie is far from the only Republican candidate who may be considering a run in the next election. Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton, for instance, has been named as a possible 2024 candidate.

Former Vice President Mike Pence is also viewed as a likely presidential contender in the next election. Pence, on the record, hasn’t ruled out a White House run in the 2024 race.

Instead, the former vice president claimed he’ll think and pray about it with his family. Former UN ambassador Nikki Haley has likewise been cited as a possible 2024 GOP candidate.

What do you think of Christ Christie potentially going for a run in the 2024 presidential election? Do you believe the former New Jersey governor is the one to take the Republican Party forward?
