Democrats Shifting Strategies on Gun Control

Gun control is not a winning issue for the Democrat Party. As a result of left-wing leaders being permissive of lawbreakers, crimes against individuals and property are soaring.

This has created a situation where more Americans than ever are turning to firearm ownership as a means of self-protection and protection of their families. Meanwhile, Democrats still want to sell the narrative that gun control is a good idea and would save lives.

However, with Democrats on the rocks and seriously poised to get steamrolled in the November midterms, they’re adopting a new strategy regarding gun control as PJ Media affirms.

The New Leftist Play on Gun Control

When it comes to gun control, the majority of Americans are in support of current laws being upheld, rather than the implementation of additional gun control measures.

Be that as it may, leftists are interested in new gun control measures because the endgame is the eradication of gun ownership altogether. However, because Democrats know such a stance is unpopular, they’ve decided to wait until after the midterms before pursuing it.

Democrats running for office who have previously been as anti-gun as it gets are now suddenly changing their tune. Look no further than Beto O’Rourke who is currently running to be governor of Texas.

When O’Rourke was running to be president in 2020, he emphatically declared, “hell yes,” the government would take Americans’ guns.

As a Democratic gubernatorial candidate in Texas, O’Rourke now claims he wants to protect the Second Amendment and isn’t interested in taking anything from Lone Star State voters.

It’s as plain as day what Democrats are doing and the extent to which they’re going to seek more power and control in the longterm.

Holding the Line

This isn’t the first time Democrats have pushed for unpopular gun control measures and it certainly won’t be the last. At the end of the day, conservatives have to be the ones to hold the line against gun control.

A large part of this means keeping Democrats out of public office. If Republicans get back control of Congress, Biden will not be able to get anti-gun bills through Congress.

Likewise, if Texans vote to re-elect GOP Governor Abbott and soundly reject O’Rourke’s candidacy, they’ll preserve the gun rights the state currently enjoys.

At the end of the day, no matter how much Democrats try to pivot or switch up their strategy on gun control, they’ve shown the country exactly who they are. Now, it’s time for Americans to vote accordingly.
