The 2024 presidential election is closer than it may appear.
On the GOP side, several different potential candidates could throw their hats into the ring. Some of the names that most frequently arise include former President Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former UN ambassador Nikki Haley, and others.
On the Democratic side, there are multiple possibilities of who may run. Joe Biden already says he intends to seek a second term. Meanwhile, other Democrats such as Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, Vice President Kamala Harris, etc., have come up.
However, Democrats at the national level aren’t the only ones considering runs for office. According to Newsmax, New York City Mayor Eric Adams is looking at a possible presidential run in 2024.
The Possibility of an Adams 2024 Presidential Run
Reports from the New York Post alleged an unnamed source confirmed the mayor’s interest in seeking the White House.
Per this anonymous source, Adams is of the view that he’s got the platform to seek the White House. This is because the current NYC mayor views New York itself as a national platform, rather than a state-level one.
Apparently, Adams also believes the Democrat Party, in general, has gone too far to the left.
He hasn't done anything for NY yet

This presumably means that if Adams were to run for president, he’d run on moderate policies; although, whether or not he would govern as a moderate, were he to become president, is another matter entirely.
When Biden was running for president in 2020, he was largely branded as a moderate; however, this is not how he’s led the country in the White House.
Apparently, Adams has attended a series of political conferences without publicly broadcasting his alleged interest in running for the White House.
Putting the Cart Before the Horse?
Adams was elected as the mayor of NYC, largely due to his promise to cut back on crime. Then-candidate Adams even stated that his previous career as a police officer gave him the necessary tools to seriously reduce crime.
Thus far, the mayor’s promised crime reduction has not taken place. Lawlessness is still very much a problem in the city, with some people nervous about even using the subway.
Violent crime is DOWN 20% in SF since Chesa took office and there have been 1000 articles about how crime is up and how he’s the cause. Meanwhile NYPDs’ 7 major felonies are up 40% since Eric Adams took office – how many articles center his role in causing crime to SKYROCKET?

Since being the mayor, Adams has come under fire for upholding vaccine mandates against police officers and letting them be fired for refusing to take these vaccines.
Adams has also faced some backlash for forcing toddlers to wear masks in public while traveling on his own to swanky events without mask mandates.
For some people, the leap from this point to president of the United States remains questionable at best.
