Earlier this week, Dr. Anthony Fauci partook in a Senate hearing about mitigation strategies to contain coronavirus. During this time, Fauci was questioned by Republican Sen. Rand Paul about some of his recommendations.

Paul asserted that since no studies show that vaccinated people are carriers of COVID-19, masking or double-masking after vaccination against coronavirus is merely theater. Fauci took offense to this, stating that Paul’s claims were not correct.

Since the hearing, both Paul and Fauci have given subsequent interviews with their version of events stemming from the congressional hearing this week. Last night, Sen. Paul told Fox News host Tucker Carlson that Fauci displayed no regard for liberty or science, per Breitbart News.

Sen. Paul declared on Friday night that Fauci presented conjecture and opinions, rather than “scientific evidence” that backs double masking and the threat of new COVID-19 variants.

The Kentucky Republican senator then informed Carlson that because Fauci believes certain things “might” happen, Fauci is all on board with Americans masking up for an indefinite period of time. In regards to Fauci’s mention of new coronavirus variants, Paul explained that zero evidence exists that these variants are hospitalizing or killing people.

Not long after these remarks, Paul also held Fauci to task for showing zero regard for liberty and freedom in America. In a nutshell, the Kentucky senator explained that Fauci is spreading a “noble lie” because he doesn’t believe Americans have the intellect to make their own decisions.

Finally, Paul explained that the onus should be on the government to prove why restrictions and infringements upon freedoms are warranted.

The General Public’s Viewpoint

Across the board, most conservatives and Republicans sided with Sen. Rand Paul, whereas most leftists in America backed Fauci.

Last night marks at least the second interview that Paul has given regarding his clash with Fauci during this week’s Senate hearing. Fauci, himself, has also given interviews, asserting that Paul’s claims about variants, vaccines, and masks aren’t supported by science.

New data from the Transportation Security Administration this week showed record numbers of travel. More and more Americans are eager for a return to normal life and are making this happen. Many poeple in the country have also suggested that politics, rather than science, are what fuels the recommendations espoused by Fauci.
