Most Americans can agree that President Trump has significantly impacted the Republican Party. Many conservatives believe that Trump actually revived the GOP and increased enthusiasm amongst conservative voters.

Right now, political tensions between Republicans and Democrats are more intense than they’ve perhaps ever been. Both parties are at each other’s throats, particularly in light of the disputed 2020 White House race and ongoing Senate runoffs in Georgia.

Just as the GOP has changed, most Americans can agree that the Democrat Party changed as well. Although, while many Democrats view shifts in their party as revolutionary and “progressive,” others see their changes as radical and dangerous.

In light of these events and much more, the Republican Party is now positioning itself as the “pro-worker” party, according to Breitbart News.

The Party of American Workers

Earlier this week, a Breitbart News staffer spoke with Charlie Kirk, the founder of conservative organization Turning Point USA. During this discussion, Kirk talked about the Republican Party of today and what it stands for; this is where President Trump’s impact on the GOP entered the equation.

Kirk ultimately credited the 45th president for transforming the Republican Party into a pro-worker, pro-free speech, and “corporate-skeptic” group. The Turning Point USA founder went on to explain that the old GOP which shipped jobs overseas in the days of “Romney and Rockefeller” is never to return.

Finally, Kirk explained to Breitbart News that Trump’s 2016 entry into politics ultimately challenged the then-status quo of the Republican Party.

Current Goals of the GOP

Right now, the Republican Party has two very important objectives; those objectives involve fighting for a fair 2020 election and winning the Georgia runoffs.

On January 6, multiple congressional Republicans will challenge the certification process of Biden’s votes in the Electoral College. Conservatives maintain that cheating, mystery boxes of fraudulent ballots, flipped votes, etc., engendered ill-gotten wins for the former vice president.

Likewise, GOP and conservative groups are throwing significant funds into the Georgia special elections. Re-electing Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue is what will keep the Senate under a Republican majority. This is major for the GOP, especially since polling indicates that both runoffs are going to be extremely close.
