GOP Unloads on VP Harris for Lack of Action on Border Crisis

When President Biden came into office in January, he inherited a peaceful Southern border, thanks to the successful policies of now-former President Trump.

Sadly, it did not take Biden long to royally screw up the Southern border by repealing Trump’s policies and essentially announcing that the border was a free-for-all. Thanks to Biden’s failed policies, the Southern border is now a disaster.

Drug cartels, terrorists, and others are pouring across the border in droves. Therefore, state governments along the Southern border are having to allocate their resources to mitigate crime and other dangers.

In March, President Biden put Vice President Kamala Harris in charge of fixing the border crisis. The only issue with this is that 29 days have now passed without a single word, action, or press conference from the vice president regarding the Southern border.

Many Republicans understandably have concerns and frustrations, as Fox News reports.

29 Days and No Plan to Fix the Border Crisis

Republican lawmakers have urged the White House to put back into law the policies which kept the Southern border under control. Thus far, however, there has been no real plan to either restore Trump’s border policies or put in place new ones that secure the Southern border.

Republican lawmakers are not happy about this. Yesterday, GOP Rep. Chip Roy slammed the vice president for doing nothing in the 29 days since she was tasked to handle the border. Roy criticized Harris for failing to visit the border even one time or speak to the American public via a press conference.

Because of the vice president’s inaction, state governments are left to pick up the slack. Texas has already started using its resources to crack down on cartels and other criminals; meanwhile, Arizona just declared a national emergency at the Southern border yesterday. Governor Ducey also deployed the National Guard to the border.

In a public release, the Arizona governor informed that his state is absorbing the costs of mitigating the border crisis; this comes despite the fact that the border crisis is a responsibility that falls into the federal government’s column.

Should Americans Expect Any Changes from the Vice President?

As things currently stand, Americans should not expect Vice President Harris to visit the border or address the nation regarding her plan to fix the crisis. Instead, it appears likely that states like Arizona and Texas will have to keep doing the work of the federal government.

It is very clear at this time that the Biden administration has no plan to mitigate this crisis; meanwhile, Democrats have not and will not hold their party leaders accountable.
