Democrats in the House of Representatives are bound and determined to remove Trump from power and block him from seeking future office. Congressional Democrats have decided that Trump “incited” and caused the mob that stormed the U.S. Capitol on January 6.
As a result of this, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is on a mission to remove the president from office before January 20. Pelosi and other congressional Democrats have publicly declared that every second and every hour of Trump in office poses a threat to the country’s Consitution, democracy, and national security.
In a letter penned to Democrats in the House yesterday, Pelosi vowed that Democrats will “act with urgency” against President Trump this week, Newsmax confirms.
House Democrats vs. President Trump
The letter from the House Speaker mentions an “ongoing assault” against U.S. democracy being supposedly perpetrated by President Trump. After Pelosi spoke of this alleged assault, she also declared that Trump poses a growing “imminent threat” to America’s Constitution and democracy.

Later today, House Democrats will submit a resolution giving Vice President Mike Pence 24 hours to wield the 25th Amendment against Trump. Pence, for the record, has already come out against doing this; however, the House Speaker maintains that if Pence doesn’t respond to House Democrats’ resolution within the allotted timeframe, then the work for impeachment shall begin.
Republicans on Impeachment
A minority of Republicans have announced their support for impeaching President Trump or called for his resignation.
However, most Republicans are not supportive of Pelosi and House Democrats’ work to impeach Trump yet again. Congressional Republicans like Matt Gaetz, Ted Cruz, and others warn that impeachment proceedings will only further divide the nation.

Last week, a group of House Republicans wrote a letter to Joe Biden, imploring the incoming president to call off Pelosi’s new determination to have Trump impeached. Biden, however, has already gone on the record about the impeachment matter; the former vice president maintains that the decision to impeach Trump ultimately rests in the hands of Congress.
Since Pence will not invoke the 25th Amendment, the nation should prepare for House Democrats to launch impeachment articles and proceedings against Trump this week. The president himself has not released a statement in response to Nancy Pelosi or House Democrats.
