The debate about mandatory vaccine passports in America has already started. Partisanship is a huge part of it; thus far, the left has taken the side of implementing vaccine passports in blue states and claiming that there’s nothing wrong with requiring individuals to show proof of vaccination before entering into businesses or traveling.

Conservatives have a vastly different outlook. Multiple Republican governors have actually prohibited the use of vaccine passports in their states. Conservatives are also stating that vaccine passports breach HIPPA regulations, privacy rights, and personal freedoms.

Over the past few weeks, Republicans have come out in full force against mandatory vaccine passports. This morning, Missouri GOP Governor Mike Parson declared that his state will not mandate vaccine passports, as Breitbart News reports.

No Vaccine Passport Programs in Missouri

Governor Parson spoke with Fox & Friends this morning regarding the growing discussions about vaccine passports. The Missouri governor didn’t hesitate to confirm that the state will “never” require individuals to carry around passports of their vaccination status.

Like other Republicans, Governor Parson also discussed the problems with the federal government having so much access to individuals’ private health details. The Republican governor then added that if individuals decide to carry vaccine cards by their own volition, they have this right; however, Parson made clear that the role of government is not to mandate vaccine passports.

The Hill to Die On

Amid talk about vaccine passports, conservatives have stated that this is the place to draw the line and say NO.

Likewise, folks on the right are pointing out that individuals who have received the COVID-19 vaccine should not worry about whether or not other individuals have done the same. At the end of the day, most conservatives agree that each individual’s health information should be private, not stored in a vaccine passport for the federal government and private businesses to review.

To this day, the left continues to downplay the serious risks and problems that stem from vaccine passports. However, Republicans are not ignoring these risks and are moving quickly to shut down vaccine passports in the legal means available to them.

Are you glad that the Missouri governor has joined the list of GOP governors coming out against vaccine passport programs?
