More Americans are Getting Concealed Carry Permits

For all of the political left’s work to implement anti-Second Amendment gun control protocols, it’s not working out so well for them. Over the past 18 months, the number of Americans buying firearms has surged.

Many of these purchasers are first-time gun buyers; about half of the people buying guns for the first time are also women. As gun ownership becomes more popular and commonplace across the nation, it’s going to be increasingly harder for Democrats to keep pushing anti-gun policies.

As it turns out, though, gun ownership isn’t the only thing going up. Breitbart News has also confirmed that a growing number of Americans are seeking concealed carry permits.

The Rise of Concealed Carry Permit Holders in America

According to the Crime Prevention Research Center (CPRC), more than 21.5 million Americans are now holders of concealed carry permits. This number marks almost a 50% increase from the number of concealed carry permit holders back in 2016.

In 2020 alone, more than two million Americans become new holders of concealed carry permits. Currently, Alabama, Indiana, and Iowa are the leading states with the most concealed carry permit holders.

Meanwhile, other states are taking action to make it easier for Americans to exercise their Second Amendment rights. Texas recently legalized open carry without the need for a permit. Meanwhile, Florida state Rep. Anthony Sabatini has submitted legislation in Florida to make the state legalize open carry without a permit.

The data is very clear. As record numbers of people seek firearms and concealed carry permits, more Americans are embracing their right to bear arms.

A Growing Need for Self Defense

The world at large is becoming more tumultuous, unstable, and unpredictable. As the Democrat Party seeks to defund police, this merely highlights the need for Americans to be able to carry and defend themselves.

There is no doubt that leftists are already devising plans to demonize gun owners and concealed carry permit holders; however, the data is not on the Democrats’ side.

For starters, concealed carry permit holders are statistically less likely to commit violent crimes than their counterparts without these permits. Likewise, in the majority of crimes committed with guns, the firearms are not legally owned.

Of course, both of these facts are regularly swept under the rug by the gun control crowd. The ultimate endgame of radical leftists is not to stop crime; it’s to disarm the law-abiding, leaving a significant class of people who are powerless to protect themselves.

The numbers, rising gun sales, and increasing amounts of people with concealed carry permits show that more Americans are saying no to victimhood and yes to self-defense.
