Earlier this month, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley officially entered the 2024 presidential election. Haley’s candidacy comes as more Republicans eye the election field and predict which others candidates will throw their hats in the ring.
Since Haley’s declaration, she’s come under various attacks from largely Democrats who are not happy she’s running. CNN news anchor Don Lemon landed in hot water after declaring that Haley is supposedly “past her prime.”
Then, the Republican presidential candidate was slammed by the left-wing talk show hosts of The View. However, despite the body blows coming her way, Haley isn’t backing down.
As a matter of fact, she’s now pushing back against her critics, as pointed out by Daily Mail.
Haley Responds
During multiple Iowa town hall events, Haley made it clear that she’s just warming up in this race. According to the GOP candidate, it’s time for the country to leave the “status quo” behind and move forward.
Furthermore, Haley stressed that working in our nation’s politics doesn’t come with an age requirement of 80. This remark from the Republican presidential contender arrives amid conversations about the need for a change in the generation of party leadership.

Critics of Haley have pounced on her for bringing up age. This includes both Lemon and The View cohosts. Nevertheless, age is an asset that Haley, 51, is leaning into.
Earlier this month, Gov. Sarah Sanders of Arkansas also spoke about the need for a new generation to lead our country’s politics.
Haley, for her part, proposed mental aptitude tests for US lawmakers who are older than 75. She stated it’s a matter of transparency, rather than disrespect.
Meanwhile, since Biden’s time in office, some Americans have endorsed putting age limits on various elected officeholders who are permitted to serve.

Throughout the GOP primary election for 2024, it remains to be seen what comes next for Haley and how her campaign will work to secure the nomination.
As things currently stand, Americans can expect to see more of the Republican presidential candidate in early voting states and holding different events to really connect with voters.

Other presidential candidates could also jump into the race, which will reveal how Haley ultimately fares against them.
Some Republicans who are viewed as likely 2024 presidential contenders are Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida, Gov. Chris Sununu of New Hampshire, and former Vice President Mike Pence.
If Haley wins the GOP primary, then she’ll likely be up against Joe Biden. If not, then Haley could potentially secure a vice-presidential slot or a spot in the cabinet of a Republican president.
