Obesity Rates Surging Nationwide

For almost the past two years, Americans have been forced to contend with the presence of COVID in one way or another. The presence of the almighty virus is subsequently responsible for conversations about health in the United States.

Health-based conversations are a huge deal, amid nationwide debates regarding the COVID vaccine and mandates surrounding the vaccine. Many folks across the country have rightfully pointed out that you can’t inject health into your body.

This point is supported by the reality that even some Americans who were fully vaccinated against coronavirus still caught, spread, and even sometimes died from it. There are no guarantees. Therefore, some folks argue that healthy lifestyle habits are more imperative than COVID vaccination.

However, a new report that obesity is rising across America is quite troublesome, as Newsmax reports.

An Obesity Pandemic in America

This week, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) shared a startling and bothersome update. This update confirms that over the past three years, U.S. adults with rates of obesity beyond 35% have increased by almost 100%.

Some of the states with the aforementioned obesity levels include Alabama, Michigan, Louisiana, Arkansas, West Virginia, and others. When broken down to age ranges with the greatest obesity rates, the CDC determined that the obesity rate of people 45 to 54 years old is 38%.

The newest developments on obesity in the United States are very relevant, especially in current times. Another CDC study newly showed that nearly eight in ten Americans who went to hospitals due to COVID were obese.

Moreover, the World Health Organization announced recently that almost three million people across the planet pass away annually because of obesity or being overweight. The rise of obesity combined with the growth of COVID cases (despite coronavirus vaccines) is a toxic combination that only leads to more death.

A More Productive Conversation

Right now, the United States is in a deep battle over COVID vaccine mandates. Lawsuits and civil disobedience are present and forthcoming as a Democrat president, Democrat governors, and Democrat mayors keep trying to force this vaccine on people.

What’s not being talked about, however, is the need for exercise and healthy eating. These are commonsense lifestyle decisions that could change a lot of lives; yet, amazingly, the conversations about health these days all center around a vaccine with increasingly debatable efficacy.

If leaders and health officials put even a fraction of the emphasis on healthy eating and exercising that they direct towards forced vaccinations, a lot of Americans would be so much better off.
