(WatchDogNews.org) – President Donald Trump is working hard to protect the country in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak. His administration is even taking steps to aid immigrants in the country. Still, that’s not enough for Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN).
Omar thinks the president should release ICE detainees:
We need to release ICE detainees, people held on bail, and anyone qualifies for work release.
We need a moratorium on incarcerating people who are low risk to others.
We need an increase in medical staff in prison and jails.
Incarcerated individuals deserve our humanity too.

Omar’s talking about the very same people that Homeland Security took into custody after being arrested by police around the country or Border Patrol. She literally wants to release criminals back into society. Shortly after her tweet, ICE announced a man being held in New Jersey tested positive for the coronavirus.

We have to draw a line in order to protect the country.
The president is already moving naturalization appointments back for immigrants. He’s not holding COVID-19 treatment against migrants and pausing arrests for nonviolent offenders. Finally, he said he won’t detain illegals who are getting tested for the virus.
Releasing criminals because Omar thinks it’s a good idea is not something Trump would ever do. Frankly, it’s ridiculous to even suggest such a thing.
