The Biden administration has chosen to prioritize gun control and the infringement of Second Amendment rights yet again.
Democrats constantly assert that gun control is a necessary measure to keep Americans safe; yet Chicago, Illinois — a city with very strict gun control laws — has constant shootings, homicides, and other crimes.
Republicans are some of the strongest opponents against the gun control measures that the Biden administration has embraced. Earlier this year, Republican leaders at state levels made clear that they’d pursue their options in regards to protecting statewide Second Amendment rights.
Now, Breitbart News reports that more than half of Independent voters are also opposed to Biden’s gun control restrictions.
Independent Voters on Gun Control from the Biden Administration
This week, the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research ran a poll on how Independent voters perceive the gun control push of the Biden administration. It’s no secret that Republicans are against this push; however, the findings from the above poll show that Independents are largely in the same boat as Republicans.
Of the surveyed Independents, 55% of them stated that they do not approve of how President Biden is managing gun policy in the country. Less than four in ten Independents polled by the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research cited themselves as approving of Biden’s gun control agenda.

Additional polling data showed that 80% of Republicans oppose Biden’s handling of gun policy while only 20% of Democrats disapprove of the president’s gun control agenda as well. The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research found that precisely 77% of Democrats believe that Biden is acting appropriately regarding gun policy in the nation.
The Power of Independent Voters
Independent voters play an immense role in the United States, a far greater role than they are often given credit for. The reality is that Biden is not governing as a president for all Americans, but rather as a president for the radical left.
The American Rescue Plan has allocated $39 billion to address the child care crisis caused by COVID-19 so that parents who need to can return to work.
The American Families Plan would ensure access to high-quality, affordable child care beyond the pandemic.

This latest poll shows that most Independents aren’t on board with Biden’s gun control. A similar scenario also rings true pertaining to Independents’ concerns about the Southern border crisis; likewise, many Independents also have reservations about stacking the Supreme Court with four new liberal justices.
Next year’s midterm races are coming up. Democrats cannot win the midterms alone with just votes from their own party members. Thus far, the left — with control of the White House and Congress — is making no moves to appeal to anyone other than the members of their own base.

Republicans are not making this same mistake in preparation for the midterms. In fact, the GOP is focusing on swing districts and getting not just Republican voters, but also swing, moderate, and Independent voters.
