The Democrat Party has a problem in this country when it comes to unions. While the party loves unions, it also loves trying to force Americans into unions.
Democrats believe unions are the end-all-be-all and that everyone should work under a union whether they like it or not.
Meanwhile, with the gig economy, independent contract work, freelancing, and other new forms of employment rising, fewer Americans want to shackle themselves to unions.
These days, most Democrats have trouble distinguishing between being pro-union and being pro-union militants. In the case of Joe Biden, this just landed him in hot water with Starbucks, per Washington Examiner.
Starbucks Takes Biden to School Over Union Meeting
Earlier this week, the president took a meeting with Starbucks Workers United. As the name implies, this is an organization that’s trying to make Starbucks locations ultimately unionize.
However, what really caused issues with this meeting was Biden’s failure to have a Starbucks representative present. Starbucks didn’t take too kindly to this, nor did the company hesitate to give Biden a piece of its mind.
NEW: Starbucks is NOT happy with Biden's meeting y'day with union leaders that included @SBWorkersUnited. The company wants its own meet-and-greet: "We are deeply concerned that Workers United was invited… while not inviting official Starbucks representatives."

According to Starbucks, “undue influences” should not have an impact on whether or not Americans choose to join unions. Starbucks later mentioned that many of its employees aren’t even interested in unionizing, to begin with.
Workers United was also slammed by Starbucks for the methods it’s employing in an attempt to strong-arm employees into joining unions.
What’s more is that Starbucks employees who chose not to unionize will have access to certain company perks. These perks include more sick leave, training, tips involving credit cards, etc.
Leaving the Choice Up to Workers
In New York, Democrats once again tried to strong-arm Amazon workers into joining a union; yet, this didn’t go as Democrats wanted it to.
At the end of the day, many workers are happy with their jobs and employers as they currently stand. There isn’t this obsession with unionizing for many people. It’s also not right for Democrats to insist that their way is the only way.
Unions only make the union leaders rich. They force companies to either go out of business or move to China. Which I turn makes senate Democrats rich.

When it comes to whether or not workers unionize, the choice has to be up to them. This is the proper way of going about things, regardless of how many political benefits Democrats see in pressuring workers to unionize.
For the past few years, unions have been on a decline, with fewer American workers choosing to join them. This could very well be a sign of the times as the world of work continues to evolve.
