President Trump has killed off yet another prominent dynasty in American politics: that being the Cheney family.
Liz and Dick Cheney’s Humiliating Defeat
Rep. Liz Cheney has been the most outspoken anti-Trump Republican – dubbed RINO (“Republican in Name Only”) by Trump himself – since the January 6, 2021 breach of the US Capitol.
On Tuesday, however, in spite of all her efforts – including the enlisting of her father, 81-year-old former Vice President Dick Cheney – she lost the GOP primary and did so with a humiliating result.
Liz Cheney got only 28.9% of the votes cast vs. 66.3% for her opponent, Trump-endorsed Harriet Hageman, for a loss of 37%. Two years ago, Cheney won her primary with a whopping lead of 73%.
Trump’s endorsement and active campaigning in favor of Hageman thus ended yet another political dynasty present for decades in American politics, Breitbart News writes in a commentary.
It notes for the first time in decades, after the elections in November, there will be no Clinton, Bush, Cheney, or McCain politicians in the White House, Congress, or in state administrations or legislatures.
After tonight there will no longer be anyone with the name Cheney, Bush, Clinton, Obama, Kennedy or McCain in office.
Trump killed off ALL of these political dynasties in seven years.

Bushes, Cheneys, Clintons, McCains ‘Annihilated’ By Trump
The Bush political dynasty – of former Presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush, and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush – was already ended by Trump.
Texas media outlets commented at the time that the local GOP increasingly started to view George P. Bush as a political liability, largely due to the political standing of his family.
Eventually, Trump-endorsed Paxton managed to portray George P. Bush as a RINO. Prior to that, in 2020, Pierce Bush, George P. Bush’s cousin, ended up third in a congressional race in Houston.
The demise of the Bush dynasty is widely linked to the 2016 Republican presidential primary.
Trump took on not only his direct competitor, Jeb Bush, but also his brother, former GOP President George W. Bush, whom Trump said wasn’t honest about Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction in 2003.
The commentary points out the McCain dynasty ended with the passing of late Arizona Senator John McCain, even as his widow Cindy was supporting Biden since before the 2020 presidential election.
The Clinton dynasty also seems to be in shambles after Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election, despite long-standing Democratic hopes that Chelsea Clinton would become involved in national politics.
While there are speculations that Hillary Clinton may still decide to run for president in 2024, for the time, the prospect appears highly questionable.
The same goes for the Obama dynasty – which may be perceived as still standing for the time being. Michelle Obama has been rumored to be considering a 2024 presidential run.
For the Bushes, Cheneys, Clintons, and McCains, however, it has been more or less “game over” because of former President Donald Trump.
First, the Bush Dynasty, then the Clintons, now the Cheney dynasty! Way to go Trump! No wonder they want him out!
