Trump Reacts to His Organization Being Convicted on Multiple Charges

Within the past two years alone, legal troubles for former President Trump have significantly picked up.

For starters, just months ago, the FBI conducted a raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, due to allegations of the former president stashing classified documents there after leaving the White House.

Then, there was the lawsuit that New York Attorney General Letitia James brought against the Trump Organization. James alleged the organization committed tax fraud and a series of other white-collar crimes.

This week, news broke that the Trump Organization was convicted on multiple counts of conspiracy, scheme to defraud, and tax fraud. To say the former president isn’t pleased about this would be a massive understatement, as reported by Newsmax.

An Intense Reaction From Trump

Following the conviction of the Trump Organization, the former president used his Truth Social platform to weigh in.

It is Trump’s perspective that what happened in Manhattan, New York was nothing more than a “witch hunt.”

The former president also vowed to appeal the verdict before suggesting the Trump Organization’s previous chief financial officer, Allen Weisselberg, pled guilty to tax crimes in exchange for a lighter sentence.

Alvin Bragg, the Democratic district attorney of Manhattan, has a different view than Trump. Following the Trump Organization’s conviction, Bragg asserted “cheating” and “greed” are at the epicenter of this. He also maintained that every corporation has to operate under the  law.

More Dominos to Fall?

The action against the Trump Organization is only one of several lawsuits that pertain to Trump. Attorney General James is also pursuing charges against former President Trump and his three eldest children: Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, and Eric Trump.

With the verdict against the Trump Organization, there are now speculations that James’ charges against the former president and his eldest children will have an easier time sticking.

Trump is alleging these charges as well are part of a witch hunt without any real merit. It is the former president’s view that James has been out to get him for quite some time in order to bolster her own political career.

At this end of the day, time will tell how far-reaching the conviction of the Trump Organization truly turns out to be. Though there’s no denying this conviction is coming at a time when Trump is already facing a decent amount of political heat as well.

The recent election loss of Trump’s endorsed Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker, along with his call to action to “terminate” America’s Constitution and dinner with Holocaust deniers, certainly isn’t doing him any favors.
