(WatchDogNews.org) – The first day of the Senate impeachment trial was exactly what everyone expected: explosive. As the day came to an end, Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY), serving as House impeachment manager, began insulting Senate Republicans. His insults lead to White House Counsel Pat Cipollone firmly shutting him down for his disrespectful display.
During his remarks, Nadler accused GOP senators of perpetrating a cover-up. Angry that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) didn’t immediately subpoena former National Security Advisor John Bolton, Nadler lashed out. He said a vote against hearing Bolton is “an absolutely indefensible vote, obviously a treacherous vote.”
Sick and tired of Nadler’s garbage, Cipollone said President Trump’s team was “respectful of the Senate.” He told the chamber that nobody deserved Nadler’s nasty insults and then addressed him head-on:
“The only one who should be embarrassed, Mr. Nadler is you, for the way you’ve addressed the United States Senate. This is the United States Senate. You’re not in charge here… It’s about time we bring this power trip in for a landing.”
It’s clear that Trump’s team is not going to take the barrage of hate coming from the House managers sitting down and Cipollone came out swinging. That’s exactly what the president and Americans need from the White House team. Even though both sides were later admonished by Chief Justice John Roberts for the outburst, it was a good day for the president.
