(WatchDogNews.org) – Failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is in hot water, and this time it’s with a member of her own party. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard’s (D-HI) defamation lawsuit against the former first lady is moving forward.
This week, Clinton’s lawyers accepted the paperwork for the lawsuit. Their acceptance came amid reports that they’d been dodging attempts to be served on three other occasions. Gabbard’s lawyer, Brian Dunne, told Fox News that Clinton’s legal team changed their mind because of the press:
“Today, after the media picked up this story, Ms. Clinton’s lawyer changed course and agreed to accept service. We would have preferred that Ms. Clinton just accept federal judicial process in the first instance, without having to be called out by the press, but in any event, Tulsi Gabbard’s lawsuit against her will now be moving forward.”
Gabbard, a 2020 Democratic presidential candidate, is suing Clinton for referring to her as a “Russian asset” during an interview in October 2019. Rep. Gabbard wants $50 million and has said Hillary needs to be held accountable for her actions.
Clinton, of course, has refused requests for comments.
