Virginia Sheriff Shrugs Off AOC's Criticism

( – Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) opened her mouth and inserted her foot into it while talking about law enforcement recently. Clearly, she was trying to elicit a response from people and one Virginia sheriff made it clear she’s not worth his time.

AOC spoke to journalist Ta-Nehisi Coates about the gun rights rally that took place in Richmond. During the conversation, she implied Virginia police were racist:

“When we go out and march for the dignity and the recognition of the lives of people like Freddie Gray and Eric Garner, the whole place is surrounded by police in riot gear, without a gun in sight. And, here are all of these people flying Confederate flags with semi-automatic weapons, and [there are] almost no police officers at that protest. So, who or what are our institutions protecting from whom?”

When asked by “Fox News @ Night” to respond to her statement, Culpeper County Sheriff Scott Jenkins said, “Her comments, I don’t even believe they deserve any response at all. They’re not worthy of it.”

That probably has something to do with her lies. There were plenty of police officers at the event because Democratic Governor Ralph Northam made sure of it when he declared a state of emergency. The police had to be on hand to enforce Northam’s temporary gun ban on Capitol grounds.

Furthermore, Freddie Gray died in Maryland and Eric Garner died in New York. Now, we aren’t geography teachers over here, but we’re pretty sure those places are not Virginia, so what do they have to do with this?

Absolutely nothing. She just wanted to invoke their deaths to push her political agenda. Jenkins was right; she doesn’t deserve a response from law enforcement.
